- KRAZY JIM'S BLIMPY BURGER
Krazy
Jim's is one of those little old fashioned hamburger restaurants that
everybody loves, and it seems to have been here forever, or at least as
long as we have been aware of it! We love the fact that they have
delicious Kaiser rolls here, which really brings out the flavor of the
meat and all your favorite toppings. We recommend eggs and provolone
cheese, for starters! You've got to order first before you grab a seat,
and we also recommend that you check out their website and get
comfortable with the "code" for ordering burgers here, because there's
a certain system and they appreciate it if you stick to it! We love all
the deep fried treats here including mushrooms and cauliflower! Very
highly recommended!

- CAFE ZOLA
When you are
craving delicious Mediterranean and Turkish delights, you certainly
need to head over to West Washington Street and into Cafe Zola! The
Frittata Zola is one of the most often recommended items on the menu,
consisting of a delicious frittata packed with tasty goat cheese, sweet
potatoes, and croutons. It's a combination made in heaven! We have also
enjoyed their french toast and crepes many times, as well as the berry
banana waffles, and everything that they serve here pairs just
perfectly with their freshly squeezed orange juice. If you're a lover
of Turkish coffee, you can certainly enjoy a nice strong cup of that
here too! Truly cozy atmosphere and a wonderful staff that makes you
feel at home.

- ZINGERMAN'S DELICATESSEN
Zingerman's
Delicatessen is one of the most famous spots for lunch in Ann Arbor,
being frequented by all the locals as well as any celebrities who come
through the area! We have enjoyed so many different items here, but
most especially Randy's Routine Sandwich, which has one of the most
exciting flavor combinations that we've ever tasted. The smoked
whitefish salad is the main feature, and when paired with scallion
cream cheese, slathered on that thick delicious pumpernickel bread, you
know you are in for a really fantastic sandwich! They're also known for
their sandwiches with pastrami, and we would very highly recommend one
of those thick deli pickles to cap it all off. Very highly recommended!

- JERUSALEM GARDEN
Whenever
we are craving delicious Mediterranean food, no matter where we are in
the southeastern part of Michigan, we just jump on the freeway and head
straight for Jerusalem Garden in Ann Arbor. We have relied on this
place for many years now, and we think that you should too. Kick things
off with that spicy hommous and some lentil soup, and then work your
way into some of those incredible entrees such as the shwarma. They
also have amazing falafel here for the vegetarians. Of course if you're
on a budget, you will find that the sandwiches are a very low cost and
yet very filling option, whether for lunch or dinner. The people who
work here are just sensational when it comes to great service, and
great ambiance too!

- ZINGERMAN'S ROADHOUSE
Clearly
Zingerman's has the market cornered on great food in Ann Arbor, and
Zingerman's Roadhouse is no exception! As far as we are concerned, it's
all about the bar here, as well as the comfort food. For instance, they
have some of the greatest macaroni and cheese that we have ever tasted,
and the New Mexico grilled chicken sandwiches are truly noteworthy, as
are the good old fashioned Reubens that nobody can ever get enough of.
Their soups are all fantastic too, especially the mushroom, and if you
are a lover of great sweet potato fries that are perfectly crisp on the
outside and nice and creamy on the inside, we know you will love the
ones that they serve here. All around, an excellent place to dine and
drink!

- ARBOR BREWING CO
Everyone
is always seeking a great brewery when they visit Ann Arbor, and we are
always all too happy to point them toward Arbor Brewing Co. They make
so many wonderful brews right here at the brewing co, and it's
incredible to taste all of them and experience the subtle differences.
We especially love coming in to play some darts or maybe some
shuffleboard, and we love the fact that it's free though that also
means it's harder to get a turn! We recommend giving them a call to see
what's going on when you're in the area, because they always have fun
events taking place to draw in new customers and keep their loyal
customers entertained. Great bar, great employees, and great ambiance
too. A+!
114 East Washington Street
- GRIZZLY PEAK BREWING CO
Grizzly
Peak Brewing Co is our other top pick for best brewery in Ann Arbor
(it's altogether too tough to pick which one would actually get the top
spot! They are both so great). The steak sandwiches are one of the most
oft-recommended items on the menu, and everyone enjoys their sweet
potato fries and of course that delicious cheddar soup with ale. Wow.
If you manage to save some room for dessert, the flourless truffle cake
is a real essential as far as we are concerned, followed by their
famous brownies with creamy ice cream, and the root beer floats aren't
a bad idea for dessert either! Everything is top notch here from the
ambiance to the service. We'd recommend this spot any day of the week!
120 West Washington Street
- ASHLEY'S PUB
We're
always the first to recommend Ashley's Pub to beer lovers in the Ann
Arbor area, as well as their other location in Westland, because at the
end of the day this is really our favorite bar and pub, hands down.
They have close to 200 beers from all over the world, and an incredible
menu of food that pairs just perfectly with all of those. The beer
flights are a great way to introduce yourself to some new flavors, and
if you're really serious about trying them all, try the world beer
tour! For your noshing needs, we recommend the pizzas, or for something
more upscale, you will definitely love the sirloin and shrimp, or the
mussels steamed in beer. You will not find that kind of flavor anywhere
else, so don't miss it!
338 South State Street
- JOLLY PUMPKIN ARTISAN ALES
One
more brewery for the road! Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is known for
their belgian brews in particular, and that's the reason that we have
found ourselves there time and time again. They also have wonderful
cocktails here, including a strawberry balsamic martini that everyone
falls in love with on first sip! For your meal, you can't go wrong with
their famous fire and smoke pizza, and we think you'll also enjoy the
truffle fries. For lunch, a smashed garbanzo bean sandwich is just what
the doctor ordered. For a loud boisterous evening, enjoy the front area
of this establishment, and for more intimate conversation and dates,
opt to sit in the back. But no matter where you are seated, you'll love
this brewery!

- SEVA RESTAURANT
It's
not exceedingly difficult to find a great vegetarian restaurant in Ann
Arbor, in fact this is probably the easiest city in Michigan in which
to find one! However, one of the best of the best in our opinion would
have to be Seva Restaurant. They have such a wide variety of vegan and
vegetarian delights to choose from. We recommend kicking things off
with a juicy sangria, and then perhaps you'll want to try the pesto and
mozzarella portobella burger. The artichoke and feta quiche is also a
very nice choice at any time of day, and after your meal you will
certainly want to opt for a great dessert, such as the cheesecakes with
peanut butter and chocolate! Pure decadence at its very best.
